China launches health passport program for travelers

Chinese messenger Wechat has officially launched the new mini-program, thereby presenting the International Health Certificate for travelers, Interfax writes.

The certificate provides test results for nucleic acid and IgG antibodies, as well as the presence or absence of vaccination against coronavirus. This information can be obtained by any foreign healthcare agency by scanning the QR code. Optionally, the certificate can be printed.

Similar technologies have already been used in China. Thus, "health codes" have been appeared in the country last year in order to contain the spread of coronavirus. The QR code, which could be obtained in an electronic wallet or application was used for work permit, public places or transport.
