Ukraine has withdrawn from the CIS aviation decrees and from several related airspace agreements. The decree was signed by the President of the country Vladimir Zelensky.
Reportedly, this includes two agreements: the first agreement concerns the civil aviation and the use of airspace signed in Minsk on December 25, 1991. According to this document, the airspace of the signatory states is considered as an integrated. Moreover, the parties had established a council for aviation and the use of airspace named as the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).
Kiev has also announced its withdrawal from the agreement related to the use of airspace, signed on May 15, 1992 in Tashkent. In particular, the document provided that its participants "will provide airspace over their territory in order to implement activities of the CIS Armed Forces, thereby preventing violations or complications".
In his decree, the President of Ukraine tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to report in the Interstate Aviation Council and the Use of Airspace on Ukraine's withdrawal from agreements.
