On March 29, the first Lufthansa flight will be operated from Frankfurt to Almaty, Tengritravel.kz reported. At the same time, the situation is currently unstable. Reportedly, flights will be operated on time unless the airspace is closed.
"Since March, direct daily flights are scheduled from Almaty to Frankfurt. At the moment, flights from Nur-Sultan will be operated three times a week. Information regarding prices and booking is already available on the official website. At the same time, there have not been any flights yet, so we are unable to give any guarantee of resuming flights. It depends on the opening of borders to Kazakhstan. We only hope the situation would be clarified, " experts stated.
Lufthansa has suspended flights to Kazakhstan on March 11, 2020. Currently, Air Astana operates direct flights to Frankfurt four times a week. Persons having a residence permit or for the purpose of visiting family members are allowed entry into Germany, but only in exceptional cases.
