20 airlines will begin implementing the covid passport system since March

Nearly twenty airlines intend to introduce covid-passports Travel Pass since March 2021. The idea of ​​covid passports promoted by the IATA would allow to safely keep records related to the COVID-19 vaccine and tests needed to ensure international travel, Tengritravel.kz writes, citing FlightGlobal.

Airlines, validating their usage of the Travel Pass app include Emirates, Etihad, British Airways, American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa and other major carriers. IATA is confident that the application will contribute to the safety opening of borders, thereby negotiating with another 30-40 carriers.

According to the publication, IATA offers airlines to include Travel Pass in their client applications. This application will contain information on testing, vaccines and other measures that might be required while traveling. Users will be able to attach documents on their health status and transfer their information to airline employees and immigration officials. Reportedly, IATA will not have access to the personal data of passengers.
