Passengers using the services of American airlines are allowed not to wear masks during the flight, Tengritravel.kz reported. These new rules were approved by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Passengers having a certificate with a negative coronavirus test made within three calendar days will be able to refuse the wearing of masks during the flight. For example, passengers of the global largest airline American Airlines must notify the airline's special assistance team at least 72 hours before departure of their exemption from wearing masks. US trunking airline Alaska Airlines has reported it will require a negative coronavirus test from passengers at least five days before their scheduled flights.
Alternatively, Delta Air Lines has urged passengers who are unwilling to put masks on board to pass a virtual medical examination provided by the airline. All the above-mentioned airlines provide for a number of exceptions for other passengers while observing the protection rule. US passenger traffic has decreased by almost 95 percent due to the pandemic.
