On March 5, 2021, SCAT Airlines is launching direct flights from eight cities of Kazakhstan to Ras al-Khaimah. These new flights have been made possible due to a special agreement between SCAT and the Ras al-Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), as reported Tengritravel.kz with reference to Gulf Business.
Direct flights will be operated from Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Aktau, Atyrau, Uralsk, Karaganda and Shymkent on Boeing 737-700 NG aircraft. Arriving tourists from Kazakhstan, including foreign visitors will be provided with free PCR tests in Ras al-Khaimah.
As the newspaper noted, Kazakhstan is one of the main tourist "suppliers" to the emirate and is being one of the five largest inbound markets in Ras al-Khaimah over the past years. Reportedly, Ras al-Khaimah has become the first emirate, providing free PCR tests for tourists. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Ras al-Khaimah also has become the first city worldwide receiving the Bureau Veritas safety certification, specializing in testing and inspection areas. In addition, Ras Al Khaimah was the first city in the Emirates universally accepted the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels Stamp.
