Boeing sold $ 9.8 billion of bonds

Created on 10.02.2021 10:30

The American concern Boeing, one of the world's largest aviation manufacturers, space and military equipment, has raised $ 9.825 billion in the corporate bond market by placing three tranches of bonds. The received financing will be used to pay off the debt, Interfax-Kazakhstan reported.

The company intends to repay a part of the $ 13.8 billion loan raised during the coronavirus pandemic. The funding enables the Boeing to perform more options amid the company's aspirations to be recovered from two shocks: restrictions on air travel due to the coronavirus pandemic and the suspension of flights of 737 MAX aircrafts during two years due to two disasters.

Since November 2020, when the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorized Boeing to return these aircrafts into the service, the company has delivered more than 40 737 MAX aircrafts to customers, and five airlines have resumed its operations in January.
