The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK) intends to complete a test of the Boeing 737MAX aircrafts, leading to the resumption of air operations in February. Presently, the aircraft is undergoing the final stage of maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the manufacturer and the US and Kazakhstan aviation authorities.

Over the past three months, the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan jointly with SCAT, the only local operator of the B-737MAX, have been preparing to resume flight operations. The AAK has encouraged the airline to held trainings, while pursuing the manufacturer's updated procedures, as well as to provide the crew's evasive actions in the simulator training program related to unforeseen circumstances that might arise from incorrect speed readings at the takeoffs, climb performance and flight levels.

Currently, the SCAT Aviation Engineering Service and technical specialists of the Boeing corporation, arriving in Kazakhstan have completed all the procedures for the aircraft reactivation and software modification. SCAT pilots have attended training courses in one of the foreign certified training centers. At the moment, the company intends to launch test flights for the week immediately ahead, and the certification airworthiness procedure is scheduled to be completed in February. The final audit related to the aircraft resumption will be conducted by the AAK.

In Kazakhstan, Boeing 737MAX operation has been temporarily suspended in March 2019 following the flight cessation of this type worldwide after two tragic aviation accidents.
