In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Singapore Airlines reinforces a surveillance on its employees. The airline's flight crew will be required to wear a tracking device throughout the entire period in other countries, Tengritravel.kz reported with reference to Travel Daily Media.
According to media, these measures were done in order to verify employees in meeting the standards whereby they must stay in a hotel room while resting. During the arrival at the destination, airline employees are prohibited from physically interacting with each other. These regulations are additional to the new requirements from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), which entered into force before 2021.
On board, staff are obliged to put face masks, safety glasses and gloves. Employees must maintain social distance during pre-flight briefings and their transportation to and from the airport. According to the rules, after returning to Singapore the crew members immediately are sent to home. If they come from a high-risk area, they must be isolated for seven days. In addition, employees have to pass three PCR tests - one upon arrival, another three days later, and the last one a week later.
