On 11 January, the Air India's longest passenger flight from San Francisco to Bangalore with a female crew was operated. Notably, this was the longest direct flight in history, operated by Indian carriers; the total flight time on the San Francisco - Bangalore route was more than 17 hours that day. The crew on board turned out to be completely female, from the commander to the flight attendants, as reported by the Tourism.
The distance between the two cities on opposite ends of the world is 13,993 km and during the flight time zones are changing to 13.5 hours. There is one more feature of this unusual flight, the flight was operated over the North Pole of the Earth. There are fewer and fewer air routes in the world, ran along the pole regions. The reason is a strong magnetic radiation, which causes incorrect operation of navigation devices, as well as a high level of radiation.
The Flight AI 176 departed from San Francisco, USA at 8:30 pm local time on Saturday and landed at Bengaluru International Airport (BLR) at 3.45 am on 11 January. The flight was operated by the Boeing 777-200LR with a capacity of 238 seats. There were four pilots and 12 flight attendants on board.
