Popular type of masks were banned by Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines appealed to passengers regarding the ban on respiratory masks, Tengritravel.kz reported. Bilal Ekshi, Turkish Airlines CEO, explained on his Twitter account that the decision has been made in order to provide the health of passengers.

Respiratory masks have an air purification valves. The valve operates in a quite standard way: when inhaling, it closes an aperture and when exhaling, it opens. Thus, the external air passes through the filter material and is cleaned from impurities, but the air exhaled is spreading without any filtration.

If a person is a virus carrier, then he would infect others despite the presence of serious protection. Airline experts believe, a banal medical mask would be more effective.
