Lufthansa will reduce almost 30 000 workplaces

By the end of this year, the German airline Lufthansa intends to reduce its foreign staff by 20 thousand people, as well as to sell its LSG division dealing with in-flight catering consisting of 7.5 thousand people, Bild am Sonntag reported.

Lufthansa subsidiaries such as Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian and Brussels Airlines are cutting the frequency of services, fleet and staff amid weak demand for flights due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to the newspaper, the German Airline, serving mainly domestic flights could reduce 10,000 workplaces next year. Air traffic is expected to be returned to pre-pandemic level only by 2025.
