Air passenger traffic has been decreased by 38 percent

Revenues of Kazakhstan airlines fell by half, the most suffered segment is passenger transportation, as reported by finprom.kz.   

According to analysts, prices for passenger services in October have been decreased by 2.4 % per month and by 8.5 % per year. The largest price reduction among regions of the republic in annual dynamics was documented in Nur-Sultan (minus 36.9 % compared to October of the previous year), Almaty (minus 28.8 %) and Shymkent (minus 28.7 %).

At the same time, prices in four of the seventeen regions have been increased: West Kazakhstan (by 34.4 % per year), Atyrau (by 13.1 %), Karaganda (by 11.6 %) and Kostanay (by 4, 5 %).

In January-October 2020, airlines carried about 4.4 million people, a decrease of 38.2 % compared with 2019. Directly in October, there were 621.5 thousand passengers, an increase of 2.1% compared with previous month, but immediately by 19.5 % less compared to October of the "pre-coronavirus" 2019, analysts stated.
