European associations have offered to buy air tickets after check-in

European touristic and passenger associations require the ticket purchase no earlier than check-in begins, according to German media. Currently, numerous airlines have not reimbursed for the costs of services provided due to flight cancel amid the COVID-19. Consumers are filing class action suits, corporate clients have lost huge sums of money, and officials are not able to solve it effectively. Sectoral experts substantiate this situation by the lack of sufficient liquidity from airlines.

Airlines naturally are rejecting newest proposals. Their representatives argue their position by the "lose planning." Without the certainty that numerous seats have been sold by early booking, they won't be able to operate flights. Moreover, the booking is not enough - companies need funds.

Experts suggest focusing on the hotel payment system, which is used only upon departure. Theoretically, a client's money is reserved on the card when booking, and in case of "no-show", if a guest has not arrived, the hotel will write off the amount according to the terms of the contract. European officials have one real difficulty in implementing changes to the ticket payment system. They have to negotiate with all global airlines, otherwise EU carriers will be involved in the worst competitive conditions.
