Kazakhstan has begun implemented a project on large-unit assembly for Russian helicopters

Russian Helicopters holding of the Ulan-Ude aviation plant has delivered the first two Mi-8AMT helicopters to Kazakhstan for subsequent assembly in Almaty. Helicopters are intended for Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic.
The delivery was implemented under the trilateral agreement between the national company Kazakhstan Engineering, aircraft manufacturing plant No. 405 and the Russian Helicopters holding to arrange large-unit assembly of Mi-8AMT / Mi-171E helicopters. The agreement concluded in 2019 provides for supply of seventeen helicopters during 2020–2022. Main customers of the Mi-8AMT are the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic.
The assembly and adaptation of helicopters in order to meet customer requirements will be carried out at the aircraft manufacturing plant No. 405 in Almaty, having the greatest competence in maintenance of this type in the Central Asian region. The plant is certified by Kazakhstan and international authorities for maintenance, updating and technical services of Mi-8/17/171 helicopters.
