The system of search and rescue and meteorological support of flights
In accordance with ICAO's standards and recommendations (International Civil Aviation Organization) and regulations governing the search and rescue flight operations over the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 4, 2011 No. 1296, the search and rescue flight support system over the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been implemented.
This center ensures the operational coordination of forces and means of the involved services to conduct search and rescue for aircraft in distress or having suffered distress on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Starting from 2023, between air navigation service provider and civil aviation operators, in accordance with the contracts concluded for search and rescue support, the crews of 27 search and rescue aircrafts with bases in the following search and rescue areas will be on daily duty: Astana, Aktobe, Shalkar, Uralsk, Atyrau, Aktau, Beineu, Kokshetau, Kostanay, Torgai, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Balkhash, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Kyzylorda, Taraz, Shymkent, Almaty (Boroldai), Taldykorgan, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Urzhar, Turgay, Kazaly, Turkestan, Muyunkum.
Civilian search and rescue aircrafts are on duty during daylight hours for radio-technical and visual searches.
