GEN 1.6  SUMMARY OF NATIONAL REGULATIONS AND INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS/CONVENTIONS

Following is a list of civil aviation legislation, air navigation regulations, etc., in force in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is essential that anyone engaged in air operations be acquainted with the relevant regulations. Copies of these documents may be obtained from the Aeronautical Information Service. (Their address can be found in section GEN-3.1.1)

1.   NATIONAL REGULATIONS

Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dated 15.07.2010 «About utilisation of the air space of the Republic of Kazakhstan and aviation activity». Law «On utilization of the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and aviation activity», determines the place and role of aviation and other subjects using the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and also regulate relationships regarding activities of users of the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan and their citizens.
Rules about utilization of the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan as №506 dated on 12th of May 2011. Rule on utilization of the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan contains national rules developed to guard and protect interests of the state and to regulate relationship regarding activities of users of the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The rules envisaged in international treaty or agreement between contracting states on a use of the airspace to be applied in instances when international treaties (agreements) are envisaging different rules of utilisation of the airspace than those contained in the law acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Seizure of Aircraft (Hague Convention).
Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Civil Aviation (Montreal Convention).
