1. GENERAL
Civil aircraft, operating within the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall carry devices and navigation equipment in accordance with the requirements of
ICAO Annex 6.
Flight documentation onboard of a foreign civil aircraft is recognized as valid in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan if they are issued in conformity with the legislation of the state of registry of the aircraft.
Foreign civil aircraft might be inspected to check the whole of documentation obligatory for international flights, upon landing on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
If the documentation of an international flight is not presented on board of foreign civil aircraft or if there is a foundation to believe that an equipment of the aircraft is out of order, a competent authority may prohibit the departure of the aircraft.
2. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT TO BE CARRIED
Flight operations without airborne communication equipment are prohibited in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
ATS clearance is required for flight operations without SSR transponder.
With effect from 15 November 2012 all turbine-engined general aviation aeroplanes of a maximum certificated take-off mass in excess of 15 000 kg or authorized to carry more than 30 passengers, for which the individual certificate of airworthiness is first issued after 1 January 2007 and all turbine-engined civil aeroplanes of a maximum certificated take-off mass in excess of 5 700 kg or authorized to carry more than 19 passengers, shall be equipped with the airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS II).
Aircraft operators flying in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall indicate in the flight plan (field 18) information on presence or absence of ACAS II on board of the aircraft, in accordance with paragraph 2.3 (GEN 1.5).
With effect from 15 November 2012 all turbine-engined aeroplanes of a maximum certificated take-off mass in excess of 15 000 kg or authorized to carry more than 30 passengers and all turbine-engined aeroplanes of a maximum certificated take-off mass in excess of 5 700 kg or authorized to carry more than 9 passengers shall be equipped with a ground proximity warning system (GPWS).
All civil aircraft operators of the Republic of Kazakhstan performing international flights shall comply with requirements of ICAO Annex 6 p. 6.19 and ICAO Annex 10 Volume IV Part IV p. 4.3.5.3.3.
Operation of aircraft in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the ACAS version 7.1 and higher is allowed.
